The thesis seminar presentation loomed like a thundercloud on Marcus's calendar. Every graduate student had to present their final portfolio to the department—faculty, fellow students, and occasionally outside critics—defending their artistic choices and articulating the conceptual framework behind their work. Marcus had watched classmates go through the process in previous semesters, some emerging triumphant, others devastated by harsh critiques.
Now it was his turn, and the presentation was scheduled for the first Friday in March.
